VETERINARIAN

View Position Description

As Tasmania’s largest companion animal practice, we are priviledged to provide a varied caseload for our team to expertly treat, both in the medical and surgical settings.

With our 14 vets and over 30 nurses and receptionists all working together to get the very best result for our patients and their owners, our first opinion clinic is well known within Launceston for providing high quality care and great service for our clients.

We receive referral cases from the North of Tasmania and regularly perform advanced surgeries (soft tissue and orthopaedic), as well as accepting oncology, imaging and acupuncture referrals, among others.

We want you to be the best you can be!

  • In our practice our vets and nurses help and look out for each other.
  • Our experienced vets help mentor our newer vets and it pays to listen to our fantastic nurses- they often have made the diagnosis before the vet!
  • We encourage and support our veterinary team to pursue their own interests- many of our vets have their niches which allows us to refer in house.

But what about you?

  • Are you a newer vet who wants to take advantage of the knowledge and experience of our vets?
  • Or are you an experienced vet keen to work with a great team of peers?
  • Do you want to work part time or full time? - Our practice is big enough and flexible to fit in with what you want to do.
  • Do you want to practice feline medicine? Or do you want to do dogs only? Or both? You choose!

Of course you already know that Tasmania is the place to be. Post Covid, Launceston has seen an influx of new residents who have moved for the fresh air, our lifestyle and the quality of life we enjoy. Our town has a great university and café vibe, and is a fantastic base for hiking, mountain biking or the beaches.

Not sure if you’re ready to commit?

How about try before you buy? Give our HR Manager Bec a call on 0488 231 211 to arrange to come and work as a locum and see that we can put our money where our mouth is.
